Registry ready.

A positioning reference and registry study app for radiography students and practicing techs, built by radiographers.

In development for iPhone. Not on the App Store yet.

Positioning

Open the Projections tab, pick a body area and work down to the projection you need. Once you're there, swipe sideways to move through the rest of that region without backing out. It doesn't need a signal, so it works the same in a basement department as it does at home.

Technique Specs
SID, IR size, grid or non-grid, and the AEC chamber setting, marked N/A where AEC isn't used.
Your Technique
Nothing is preloaded, because every room is different. Save the kVp and mAs you use, and it works out the 15% rule both ways for you.
Positioning Notes
Step-by-step patient positioning and central ray. Many also cover breathing instructions and what the image should show.
Reference Image
Attach a picture from your photo library, like a marked-up diagram from your notes. Never add one with patient information on it.
Search
Type a body part or projection, like “scaphoid” or “mortise.” It reads the notes too, so “iliac crest” finds every projection that mentions it.

Registry Practice

In the Learn tab, RAD Science covers radiographic physics and image production, from atomic structure to image quality. Each topic is its own quiz, in the order you'd cover it in class.

Explanations
Answers are graded the moment you tap, with the correct choice marked. Most also explain why that answer is right.
Topic Progress
Leave a topic partway through and it picks up at the next question you haven't answered.
Missed Questions
At the end you see your score and the questions you missed, with the right answers. Redo Missed Only runs just those again.
Your Progress
The flame at the top of every tab tracks your study streak. Tap it for today's goal, the days you've studied lately and a readiness score weighted by the ARRT content specification.

Formulas & More

The Formulas tab holds the exposure math and reference tables you'd otherwise keep on an index card in your scrub pocket, plus a comp checklist and a 3D x-ray room.

Inverse Square Law
Change the SID and see how much the beam weakens, and the new mAs that keeps IR exposure the same. The answer updates as you drag.
Grid Conversion
Pick the grid you're switching from and to, no grid included, and it gives you the new mAs.
Exposure Rules
Rules of thumb for adjusting technique when kVp, part thickness, distance or the grid changes, each with a worked example.
Dose Reference
Approximate effective dose and entrance skin dose for common exams, with occupational, public and fetal dose limits.
Clinical Competencies
A checklist of procedures to comp, grouped mostly by body area. Check each one off as you go and a ring shows what's left.
X-Ray Room
A 3D general room you can turn and zoom. Move the tube, table and wall bucky, angle the tube or go cross-table, and the beam follows.

About

Xposure is made by Corbin Tucker and Juan Montoya, both R.T.(R)(ARRT). We're still adding to it, so if you spot a mistake or want something covered, let us know through the Support page.
